[Q/A] Hello IT… (update 02)

… Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Hi all,

With this little “IT Crowd” gimmick, I wanted to talk about technical support for “Blocks That Matter”.

As you may know, we are still in the “Humble Voxatron Debut” bundle!

We already received a lot of emails from players who finished the game and wanted to share their experiences with us!

That’s pretty cool, but we also received some emails about players encountering bugs, or unable to launch the game on given configurations.
I try to answer all the emails I’ve received, but it’s possible that I’m missing some. Don’t hesitate to email me here:

I’ll try to keep a Q&A section here, to help people find out what’s going wrong.

BTM TechDemo 0.9, Community is live

Posted on August 13, 2011

Hi everybody!

It’s been a while since we didn’t pushed a post about Tech Demo (even if we made a “silent update” with the 0.8.0.2 version).

>> The main new feature

This version 0.9.0.0 is bringing… the Community Section!

It will be the occasion for you to bring the Swing Swing Submarine Levels Server down, even if only we put only 6 levels online. To full test the server, you can select a level to automatically download it, play until the end and then vote (thumbs up or down).

As a reminder for the people who want to test:

The demo should works on Windows, Mac and Linux but remember it’s a tech demo. If you’ve got problem to run the game, read the README.txt first than please send us an e-mail (or comment/tweet/poke) explaining WHAT happens and WHEN it happens:

>> The WIP Level Editor

You will also able to try the very very very very WIP level editor!
To avoid any spoil of the content of the game, we removed intentionally some stuff from the editor! So you can test without fear.

>> Save deactivated for the TechDemo
Note that you will not able to save your creations for now (remember, it’s a TechDemo!). But we hope that you will be soon able to share your architectural awesomeness with us, and collect a great amount of ‘likes’… and maybe your creations will end in the “Featured” section!

Thanks again for your precious help!

>> Last hours to help BTM in the IGSU vote!
And by the way, it’s the FINAL HOURS to vote for Blocks That Matter for the IGSU, so if you want to help us again and again, and if you have access to the pool vote, we will be glad to get your click!

BTM Tech Demo updated! (0.8.0.1)

Posted on July 19, 2011

Hi everybody!

Just few words to say that we put an update to the playable Blocks That Matter ‘Tech Demo’ we released last week.

The version number is 0.8.0.1 (well, 0.8.0.1.2 if you download it from IndieDB ’cause I’m dumb).

EDIT: Since I’m really really dumb lastly, I forgot to erase my cheat save in the slot 1, as a consequence you will miss a dialog tutorial in the 1st level… the easy way is to ERASE the save (via the Options menu) or by changing save slot (from the main menu by pressing keyboard F or gamepad X). Apologies () (thanks to JLG for noticing it).

BTM – sales week 04 and porting

Posted on June 15, 2011

Hi everyone!

Today I’m going to skip the weekly “Blocks That Matter” sales report… what? You were expecting it? Okay, here is a very fast recap (with 2 days late!). Right after that, I will focus on the game port for the Windows/Mac/Linux versions.

> Media coverage

This week, I don’t think we got a lot of media coverage… since it was E3! Oh gosh, did you see Rayman’s Origins, From Dust, Journey, Sound Shapes, PixelJunk: Side Scroller? It was quite refreshing in a middle of all that ‘Modern War Shooter’ things.

> Sales

Anyway, here are the sales since the last report.
